A look at how AI-generated presentations actually work with Replit Slides. What it does well, where it fits, and why the old way of designing decks by hand is starting to feel like wasted effort.
The short version
Going deeper
Most people have spent an entire evening dragging text boxes into alignment. That is not thinking. That is formatting.
PowerPoint and Google Slides are built around you doing the design work by hand. Every color, every font, every margin is your problem.
Replit Slides flips that. You describe what the presentation should say and it handles the structure, the layout, and the visual polish. The slow part gets absorbed by the tool.
You start with a prompt or a doc and describe the deck you want. The AI produces a structured, styled set of slides you can present or share.
Replit frames this as building slides through conversation. You tell the agent what you want on each slide, refine it, and the design follows along. It is closer to writing an outline than opening a design program.
My read is that the vibe coding approach matters here. You are not learning software. You are just saying what you mean and adjusting from there.
AI slide generators are strong when you already know your message. Feed it clear ideas and you get a clean deck in minutes.
They are weaker when you are still figuring out what you want to say. The tool will happily design confusion into something that looks professional. Garbage in, polished garbage out.
So the real work moves upstream. Spend your time on the argument and the story. Let the tool carry the part you were never good at anyway.
Replit is not alone in this space. Plus AI works inside PowerPoint and Slides, SlidesPilot converts PDFs and Word docs into decks, and SlidesAI builds straight into Google Slides.
I keep seeing the same idea across all of them. Presentation software is becoming a place you describe outcomes rather than build them by hand.
What sets Replit Slides apart for me is that the finished deck lives as a shareable public link. No attachment, no version chaos, just send someone the URL.
Founders pitch constantly. Investor updates, sales calls, internal reviews, the same story reshaped ten different ways.
Each of those used to cost an hour or two of design time you would not get back. That cost is what these tools remove.
I think the smart move is to stop treating deck building as a skill worth protecting. Your edge is the idea and how you explain it. Everything around that is now something a tool can do faster than you can.
