# Cloud Design: Turning HTML Prompts Into Real Designs

**Topic:** AI Tools

A closer look at using AI to generate designs from simple HTML prompts. This covers why the two-step workflow matters and where the tool actually saves you time.

## The short version

- Cloud Design builds real designs from plain HTML prompts, no manual coding required.
- The trick is writing your prompt in Claude first, then pasting it in.
- A vague prompt gets a vague result. Specificity is the whole game.
- This is for speed and iteration, not for replacing a real designer on brand-critical work.

## What Cloud Design actually does

Cloud Design takes a written prompt and turns it into an HTML-based design. You describe what you want and it builds it.

The appeal is that you skip the blank canvas. Most people freeze when they open a design tool and stare at nothing. Here you start with words, which most of us are far more comfortable with.

My read is that this lowers the entry barrier more than it raises the ceiling. Beginners get further, faster. That alone is worth something.

## The two-step workflow that changes the output

Do not type your prompt straight into Cloud Design. Write it in Claude first.

The reason is simple. Claude is better at structuring a request than you are off the top of your head. You tell it what you want and the format you need, it hands you a clean, detailed prompt, and then you paste that into Cloud Design.

This one habit is the difference between a rough draft and something usable on the first pass. I keep seeing people skip it and then wonder why their results feel generic.

## Why specificity carries all the weight

Vague prompts produce vague designs. That sounds obvious until you watch how loosely most people describe what they want.

"Make me a landing page" gets you a template. "A landing page for a fitness coach, single column, dark background, one bold headline, one call to action button" gets you something close to real.

Think of the prompt as the brief you would hand a junior designer. The clearer the brief, the less back and forth. The tool cannot read your intent, only your words.

## Where it fits and where it does not

Cloud Design is best for speed and iteration. Mockups, first drafts, quick concepts you want to see before committing time.

Where I would be careful is anything brand-critical or highly custom. AI gets you 80 percent of the way, but the last 20 percent, the taste and the small choices, still comes from a person who knows the brand.

Use it to move faster through the boring part. Then bring your own judgment to the finish. That combination beats either one alone.
