# The AI Stack I Actually Use for Daily Work

**Topic:** AI Tools

A plain breakdown of which AI tools do which jobs, from writing to images to automation. No hype, just what I reach for and why it works.

## The short version

- Match the tool to the task instead of forcing one AI to do everything
- OpenAI handles writing and research, specialized tools handle images and code
- N8n and no-code builders make automation possible without being a developer
- The fastest way to learn a tool is to subscribe and actually use it today

## One tool cannot do everything well

Most people pick a single AI and try to bend it to every task. That is where the frustration starts.

The better move is treating AI like a toolbox. You would not use a hammer to cut wood, and the same logic applies here.

I keep seeing people burn hours asking a general chatbot to build a workflow it was never designed for. Split the work by job and everything gets easier.

## Writing, research, and the death of the search bar

OpenAI is my default for anything language-shaped. Emails, drafts, quick research, understanding a topic I know nothing about.

It has quietly replaced a lot of my Google searches. Not because it is always right, but because it gets me to a first answer faster and I can ask follow-ups in plain English.

My read is that this is the least controversial use of AI right now. If you only adopt one tool, start here.

## Images need their own set of tools

General chatbots handle text well and images poorly. For visual work I reach for something built for it - NanoBanana, HiggsField, or Weavey.ai.

These let you produce genuinely complex imagery, not the flat generic stuff. The gap between a writing model and a dedicated image model is wide, and you feel it immediately.

One caveat: expect to experiment. Image tools reward iteration more than perfect prompts on the first try.

## Automation without being a developer

N8n is where things get interesting for anyone tired of doing the same task by hand. You connect steps, set triggers, and let the workflow run.

Zapier is the more connected option, integrating with thousands of apps from partners like Google and Microsoft, so it is worth a look if you live inside existing software. There are also no-code builders like Lindy and Gumloop aimed at people who are not engineers.

I am not a coder, and I still get real use out of these. That is the whole point.

## Building and coding get specialist tools too

For websites I like Repl.it, with Lovable and Base44 as solid alternatives. Repl.it in particular has stuck for me because it feels approachable even when I am out of my depth.

For actual coding, Claude is the one I trust. Different models have different strengths, and Claude tends to hold up better on programming than a general assistant.

The pattern repeats: pick the tool made for the job, not the one everyone talks about.

## How to actually start

The best way to learn any of these is to subscribe or grab the free version and give it a real go. Reading about tools teaches you almost nothing.

I learned by doing exactly this - fumbling through, making these videos, testing what breaks. There is no perfect starting point, only today.

Pick one task you do often, find the tool built for it, and run it once. That single loop teaches you more than a week of research.
